There used to be a time when homes and offices were PC or Mac-only. This is no longer the case; PCs and Macs mingle at home and in the office, which means that at some point you will need to access Mac data on your PC. And this is where the functionality provided by CrossFont comes in. What this application does is letting you convert Mac fonts to PC and back. And more to the point, it converts TrueType and PostScript Type1 fonts between Mac and PC.

Everything about this application seems to be focused on speed. The first step you must take in order to test this application is getting CrossFont off the web and onto your computer, which only takes a few seconds. A 1.8MB download can’t take more than a few seconds to complete. A setup wizard will then quickly guide you through the steps you need to take to install CrossFont on your Windows-powered computer. The application works with any Windows version, from Windows 2000 up to Windows 7.

Eye candy and fancy graphics are a treat for the eye, but they’re not that good if you want to be speedy and efficient. That’s why the interface is very simple (some may say a bit too simple) and focused on helping you get things done rapidly. Just select the format to convert from, the format to convert to, the font you want to convert, and hit the convert button. The application will do its job blazingly fast.

Speaking about CrossFont’s job, its main functionality is to convert TrueType and PostScript Type1 fonts between Mac and PC. There’s extra functionality that deserves to be mentioned, like the fact that it searches for fonts in .zip and Stuffit archives and that it lets you preview fonts.

You can enjoy the ease of use and functionality CrossFont has to offer free of charge, but only for a limited amount of time. You can test CrossFont for an evaluation period of 15 days. When that evaluation period is over, you will have to get a license to keep using CrossFont.

CrossFont is a fast and efficient tool to convert TrueType and PostScript Type1 fonts between Mac and PC.

Pros

It takes very little time to have CrossFont up and running. The interface is very easy to use. CrossFont can batch convert TrueType and PostScript Type1 fonts between Mac and PC. It is free for an evaluation period of 15 days.

Cons

Some may say that the interface is a bit too simple.
